ClimateForce: Driving Regeneration in the Wet Tropics and Beyond
Since its inception in 2019, ClimateForce has been committed to practical, science-based solutions for regenerating ecosystems and building climate resilience. Our research station located in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest – the world's oldest rainforest – is pioneering high biodiversity regeneration methodologies. The unproductive 527-acre corridor represents a unique restoration opportunity to show how a monoculture farm can diversify to support biodiversity, culture and green infrastructure. This site serves as a living template, benchmarking off-grid innovation, species protection and tropical resilience globally.
Working in partnership with local communities, Traditional Owners, landholders, and scientists, ClimateForce has become a driving force in the Wet Tropics region and beyond. Here’s a snapshot of our journey so far—and where we’re headed.
Achievements to Date
🌄 527 acres of land protected, owned and managed organically
Having the land, assets and base infrastructure secured allows us to focus on scaling up operations, research and labour capacity.
☀️ Off grid infrastructure
Solar power system with 75kWh storage - we are powered 100% from renewable energy
Research station - a living lab for nature positive
Nursery - germination shed and shaded hardening area housing 20,000 trees comprising 180 species
Office space - internet, data storage and workshop
🌲 16,000 native trees (comprising 80 species) planted so far
Trees planted in 2022 are now reaching canopy height, casting shade and providing habitat for birds, insects and returning tree kangaroo families. Not to mention, restoring soil health and sequestering carbon.
🌱 Seed to canopy tracking
Every tree planted is geo tagged, enabling us to track individual trees from seed to canopy closure. This transparent approach allows donors and partners to see the real-time impact of their support and ensures accountability at every stage.
🤝 Partnership driven projects
ClimateForce has collaborated with Traditional Owners, community, private landholders and our resilience partners to ensure that projects are grounded in local knowledge and long-term stewardship. These partnerships strengthen cultural ties to Country while delivering measurable and evidence-based restoration outcomes.
What’s Next
ClimateForce is focused on scaling up its impact in 2025 and beyond:
🌱A nature positive model
ClimateForce is building an industry-ready blueprint for tropical land management that sustains biodiversity whilst supporting industry transitions and livelihoods. Our methodologies are verified by research and cost models and made relevant by local farmers and indigenous people.
🔬 Science-backed monitoring
We continue to strengthen ecological monitoring by utilising sensors, LiDAR and bioacoustics for tracking biodiversity gains and future modelling.
💹 Pathway to market
We are compiling 5 years of research to create digital tools and digital assets that verify and track nature-positive returns over time, while exploring blended finance pathways to unlock long-term sustainability through diversification into traditional investment markets.
🌏Rural resilience and green economy
We continue to advance innovation in land and biodiversity protection, creating jobs and engaging community in environmental projects that impart practical restoration skills and a deeper understanding of ecosystem health.
At ClimateForce, we believe restoration is more than planting trees—it’s about restoring hope, ecosystems, and connection. We’re proud to be part of the Wet Tropics Restoration Alliance and look forward to working with all of you to regenerate the landscapes we call home.
